Thankful Thursday

"Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance?  You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.  You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea."

~ Micah 7: 18-19

Happy Holidays!  Once Halloween passes things always get busy around these parts with Thanksgiving prep and then I have Moo's birthday followed by my birthday followed by Christmas and the New Year.  So, I haven't been as active on the blog as I've wanted to be these last two months.  Nevertheless, I'm back and glad to say that you'll be seeing me around these parts a lot more and on a more consistent basis.

There are some many things that I am thankful for and want to share with you guys since my last Thankful Thursday post.  I honestly don't know where to start.  I guess I'll start with being thankful that I was able to fix my computer.  Last month I attempted to do NaBloPoMo and halfway through my computer fan died on me which caused my computer to not stay on for more than 20 seconds at a time.  It was just enough time to let me know that my fan was broken and my computer was shutting down to prevent damage to my hard drive due to overheating.

I got frustrated because it can take a while to get your computer back from a computer shop.  In the back of my mind, I was thinking I can order a new fan and install it myself to ensure that I'd have my computer back up and running in a timely manner.  Off to YouTube I went and thanks to a tutorial on how to safely take apart my computer, I fixed my fan!  I didn't even have to order a new one.  It turned out that my current fan had a clog.

It works like a charm.  I'm thankful that I believed in myself.  Taking apart a computer can be very intimidating to say the least, but it's an experience I'm glad to have under my belt now.  Moo turned seven two weeks ago and I'm grateful that we were able to make her birthday wish come true and have lunch with her at school.  I promise that she can be so easy to please sometimes.

I recently shared on my Instagram that we started the house hunting process again.  Our first two rounds of house hunting did not go well.  However, I'm grateful that we didn't let those those experiences turn us off to becoming homeowners.  All is going well and all I will say is stay tuned to the blog.  Below is a picture of another kitchen I fell in love with too.

I loved that this kitchen had tons of light and farmhouse feel.  I wish I had snapped a picture of the farmhouse sink.  The cabinets had a light whitewash finish that I wish had thought to get a close up of.  I also liked that the island came fitted out with electrical outlets.  However, I didn't like that there wasn't a space to store my cookbooks, no overhead microwave and the refrigerator space is smaller.  Also, this house did not have a mud room like a few of the others we looked at did.

My birthday is coming up and I'm grateful that my husband decided to give me my birthday present early.

Both my DSLR and point and shoot Canons have been out of commission for months now.  Well, my husband and the kids know important it is to have a decent digital camera is for my blog and to record vlogs for YouTube.  So they got me this Sony Cyber-shot (the Mr is a Sony fan).  It's actually better than my point and shoot Canon.  The settings give me more control over things like adjusting my exposure and the pictures seem crisper.

Last month I blogged about 5 Things I Want To Photograph Better and having a new camera is a great way to start off my journey to improve my photography. Lastly, I'm thankful that my mom's breast cancer tests came back negative!  Waiting for the results had been weighing heavy on my mind for weeks.  Thank God for our answering our prayers!

I do hope that each and everyone are enjoying this holiday season so far.  Although, thanksgiving is gone, each day is new opportunity to be grateful and remain humble.  Now, I'm off to pick out Moo's dress for her Christmas concert tonight.

What are you thankful for this week?
