Thankful Thursday

Well, our snow came and went.  I'm sad to see it go, but at least we don't have to worry about icy roads.  The Mr was actually iced in at work yesterday for a few until the roads got scraped and salted again.  I'm thankful that he was able to make it home safely.  I wish the same could have been said for a few of my friends and loved ones in Atlanta.  A few of them ended stranded on the highway for over 10 hours and had to sleep in their cars overnight.

I can't even imagine being stranded in my car in frigid temperatures, with no bathroom, no food, no water.  And to think that there were people with kids-toddlers and infants- who were stranded just clutches at my heartstrings.  I'm the hoping the next snow that comes along, everyone is better prepared.

I'm thankful that Monday was a great therapy session day for JJ.  I feel like the sun is about to come out.  He's finally used to his therapist and the sight of her no longer makes him cry.  He said three words on Monday that we could clearly make out-hand, car and cup without being prompted.   So, my plan is that we'll continue to go over those words to help him get more comfortable saying them and verbalizing himself.

Thank to everyone who continues to pray for us as we travel along this journey.  Thank you for your words of encouragement and for sharing your own stories of dealing with a child who has delayed speech and/or sensory overload.  It's nice to not feel so alone.

Next month marks 9 years since the day that Mr and I first met.  We've had our series of highs and lows, but I'm thankful for perseverance and new beginnings.  I really am excited to be spending the rest of my life with him.  I'm grateful for his support and letting me be me.  Love you babe!

What's on your gratitude list this week?

  1. Thankful I was not caught up in that snow with my kids. My hubs was caught here in Atlanta but safely made it to his aunts house the kids were so glad to see him after not seeing him for 48hrs. We are about to celebrate our 10th anniversary next year and I am surprised we lasted this long.

  3. Atlanta was no joke. That irked me. Why didn't the schools dismiss early? Just crazy.

I'm grateful for this weekend, the hubs and I are taking the girls out for some family fun.
