To Tree or Not To Tree

I know we just finished celebrating Halloween and right now I'm in the thick of planning out our Thanksgiving menu, but earlier today the Mr asked if I wanted to go ahead and get up the tree up tomorrow?  We're are hands down Christmas people.  If you've been reading the blog, then you know that I've been watching Christmas movies since last month.  And now I'm cranking up the Christmas tunes.

We've already decided that we want to move back into the apartment complex the Mr and I first stayed in, but they won't have any units big enough for us until after Christmas.  And I can wait one more month or so be free of this place.  We might even be able to get an apartment in the exact same building as our old apartment!  Talk about memories.

Back to tree.  Honestly, I haven't put up any fall decorations because after the whole situation with the landlord/property manager and having to get code enforcement involved, I didn't think we were going to be here long.  And truth be told, although we're have to wait on a unit at our old apartment complex, there are still some things on the list from code enforcement that need to be fixed and installed like the window.  So, they have until the end of the month and then fines will start coming in.  Who knows if the city shuts down this property due to lack of repairs, we end up having to move sooner than planned.

But until then, the Mr just thought it would be a good idea to just go ahead and start getting ready for Christmas.  You know, bring some holiday cheer into this place.  And have I to say that I'm actually leaning towards going ahead and putting the tree up.  It would definitely free up some closet space since my top shelf is currently half taken over by Christmas gifts, I've already wrapped.  And with me working on my book, JJ's therapy starting  and the Mr working this might be one of the few weekends with us all at home and free to trim the tree.

Do you think it's ever too early to put up a Christmas tree?

    1. We put it up yesterday and the kids had a blast. I'm glad we went ahead because I was able to put more clothes and a few other things in my closet that was holding Christmas gifts!

  2. Yes it is too early to put up the Christmas tree! One of the radio stations here has been playing Christmas music 24/7 since Nov 1st.....not cool. I usually wait until after my daughters birthday(Dec 5th) but think it'll go up either right after thanksgiving or Dec 1st.

    1. I love those stations. I look at like this, we rush so much in life as it is. The one thing that I don't like to rush is Christmas. It's just a magical time. I really want to get the full enjoyment of our decorations and feeling in the holiday spirit this year. Plus, my husband got a chance to be here with us to do it!

  3. I don't plan to put mine up until after Thanksgiving, but you do whatever is best for you and your family! There's nothing wrong with getting ready to celebrate Christ!

    1. Agreed! Moo is too excited. She even asked if we could back Jesus a cake?! I'm so happy that she now equates Christmas trees and decorations not with just getting gifts but with Jesus and the true reason why we celebrate Christmas.

  4. Wow I thought I was a Christmas lover lol but if that makes you happy it would be a happy way to say goodbye to your place. We normally get the tree up on Black Friday and last year it stayed up until right before Valentine's smh HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

    1. I love Christmas time with a passion! LOL. And you're right. Enjoying the tree longer this year is going to be a good way to goodbye to our current apartment. And I totally don't blame you for leaving the tree up until February. It's just something about having that visual reminder of why we should be happy and that we should be working hard to spread cheer and love that makes us happy and better people.

  5. I think getting a tree sounds like such a good idea even with so much going on! Especially when it's part of something you love SO much!

    1. Getting this tree up on Sunday did help to take our minds off of everything going on. And I'm so grateful that for one day I wasn't focused at all on the negatives.

    1. Exactly. If you're going to go through the trouble of putting up decorations make sure you have enough time to enjoy them.

    1. Taking down it can be a headache, especially with trying to keep the lights untangled. And I always seem to break at least one of the glass balls when I take the decorations off. Putting up the tree is definitely way better than taking it down. We spent hours putting it up and getting it just right Sunday.

  10. Hey whatever works for you! I am starting to plan out our decorations but I know it will be
Thanksgiving night before I put them up.

I am so sorry about all of that drama with your current living situation. God knows what's best and I am sure he will see to it that you all get it sooner than later. Can't wait to see your Christmas decorations!
