Thankful Thursday

Happy 4th of July!!  The weather here was all over the place today.  One minute it's sunny out and the next storm clouds have moved in and it's raining.  Thankfully, we got two really good windows of sunshine to get outside, get on the grill and let the kids run around for a bit.  And speaking of getting outside, my neighbor's husband across from us was nice enough to cut our grass with his riding lawn mower.

It's renting into our lease that lawn care will be taken care of by the landlord.  However, our yard has been looking like a mini forest for a week and some change.  The bees have taken over.  And playing dodge the bees is not fun y'all.  I'm so over this rental but since we want to stay on the outskirts of the city because it's closer to the Mr's job we're limited in moving options.  Nobody in this area rents and hardly anybody is selling.  Most properties in this area are family owned and passed down generation to generation.

I love that.  But at the same time it's a bit of a stumbling block for outsiders like us trying to move into these family owned neighborhoods.  I'm praying that something will come available within our budget in this area and with enough space.

It's been almost a week since the Mr's surgery and I'm thankful that he's healing well.  I can't tell you all how relieved I was when I heard that his surgery had went well.  It's scary knowing that your loved one is going under the knife.  The nurse and doctors had to talk to me about everything they were going to do before he went back.  And hearing words like breathing tubes just made me nervous.

I'm also thankful for everyone who kept us in prayer and sent me words of encouragement.  It's always nice to know that when I'm going through something, there are people in my corner and my family's corner.  Seriously, raising kids isn't the only thing that takes a village.  You all have become my cyber family and friends.

How has your Independence Day been?

    1. I'm hoping we get some lovelier and more consistent weather. I am getting tired of lugging around umbrellas or staying in.

    1. Sadly, the he still hasn't come through with lawn care and because it's rain every day since the 4th, the grass is back growing fast. No worries, I think God is getting ready to open up a door for us soon!

  3. Glad you got some sun on the 4th. Our day was kind of like that too...hot and sunny one minute, and raining the next.

Glad to hear your husband is doing well!

    1. I think the whole lower East Coast is getting this rainy-sunny weather. I guess I shouldn't make too much of a fuss about it because it's better than the drought we had last year. Farmers are definitely getting enough water for their crops.
