Thankful Thursdaay

Happy Thankful Thursday YUMMs!  I hope each and everyone of you had blessed Christmas if you celebrated it.  My family and I had a wonderful Christmas.  This Christmas was probably one of the best we've had yet.  And not because of the presents or anything materialistic.

We were able to just stay home and really enjoy some quality time as a family.  And I'm very thankful for that because as you all know the Mr has a hectic work schedule.  I'm also thankful that we got to celebrate Christmas early with my baby sister.  She surprised us with a visit on Christmas Eve.  Moo was beyond thrilled because her Auntie C is her second favorite person in the world.

It was fun watching them make cookies together and opening up presents.  JJ slept most of Auntie C's visit but finally woke up in time to see the cookie making process going down.  He thought it was pretty neat and wanted in on the action immediately.  It's always a blast spending time with my baby sister because we have such a strong bond.  We are each other's biggest fans literally!

I'm also thankful that everyone enjoyed and really loved their gifts.  It was a such a delight watching Moo's face light up with each present she unwrapped.  Her favorite gift by far was her tent house.  She has lived in that thing since Christmas morning.  She's even been trying to convince me that there's enough room in there for us all to sleep at night. LOL.

Seeing how happy that simple gift has made her makes me not mind that it takes up a good deal of space in the living room.  I don't even mind that we have absolutely no other place to put it.  Her tent house has given us some mother-daughter bonding time too because you can color the sides.  So, we've been coloring away during JJ's naptimes.

And with this being our last Thankful Thursday of 2012, I'm just thankful and truly blessed at all the wonderful things have happened in my life this year.  Looking back at some of my past Thankful Thursday posts, I've come a long way.  So many doors were opened for me.  I'll forever be grateful of the opportunities that this community and God have afforded me.

And if I had to pick one thing that I'm most thankful for this year it would be my kids' health because we did make quite a few visits to the ER for allergies and mystery illnesses.  Then, there was the whole scare of whether JJ would be able to walk because of his lack of muscle density on his left side.  Through it all you guys were here keeping me sane and sending up prayers for us.

I am so humbled by the love, support and encouragement that I get here on my blog, the Facebook page and Twitter.  Thank you, thank you and thank you to everyone who holds me down and reps YUMMommy!  Can't wait for 2013.  We're going to soar even higher YUMMs!

What are you most thankful for in 2012?

  1. Being able to realize my dream. I think I have been ignoring it for so long. I am also thankful for my kids and the life we live. I want more but I know someone out there has it worse than me.

  2. We basically did the same thing you and your family did, spend quality time. My fiancee and I watched movies, listened to Christmas music, and we ate a delicious dinner.
