Meet the Busy Bodies.

Those two keep this mommy very busy and her feet. Seriously, ever since Moo turned three it's like she inherited a third stomach. Every five minutes I'm hearing "Mommy, I'm hungry." And when she's not eating she's drinking.
I don't even know how her poor stomach can hold all the stuff she consumes during the of course of a day. I mean she can do some serious damage on a fully stocked frig and pantry. And instead of being a picky eater, she's become a picky tv watcher. Yes, already she's become too cool to watch certain cartoons.
And with JJ heading into toddlerhood in three months, he's so much busier than he was a few months ago. Not to mention, we're going through the teething stage. Nothing is safe getting gummed. Whatever he can get his little hands on goes straight to his mouth.
As you can tell from the pic, he has a set of wheels that allows him to get into just any and every thing he wants. He's like a little speed racer in that thing. If I get up to go into another room to get something, he's right on my heels. The kitchen is his new favorite hang out spot because he loves slamming the cabinet doors and digging with the trash and recycling cans (gross).
Naptimes are quite a struggle now. I think he feels like he's missing out on stuff, but he's not. We're lucky to get in two naps now. That sucks because it means that I have to do most of my work and hunting for freelance gigs at night when he's sleeping.
Oh did I mention, he thinks that my laptop is his. Yes, we frequently battle over who's going to do the typing if I'm trying to use my laptop during the day. I'm thinking that he'll be getting his own baby laptop for his birthday. Hopefully, that will be enough to appease him.
Who knew I would have two little busy bodies on my hand? I certainly didn't. I always thought I would have one high maintenance kid and one low maintenance kid. I guess not.

Lana seems to have a question about everything under the sun an since she's become potty trained she changes underwear and clothes every 5 mins. Talk about extra laundry I'm up to mu neck in it.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Well, at least you know what you have to look forward to when she's a teenager. She making sure she her outfit stays fresh.
DeleteWow, they are getting so big! My older ones are easy since they are 15 & 17. My almost 4 year old is almost as easy as the girls were. He is starting to become a little more independent and is learning so much each day. I keep my life simple in general so taking care of my family is not so rough. Now if you asked me this when my son was 2 I would have had a much different answer :-)
ReplyDeleteI think once JJ can talk and walk it'll be a little less hectic for me. He'll probably tag along behind his sister then.
DeleteAwww..they are so cute. Mine kids are older...now, as much as they love each other they are always fighting...I think I would prefer them to be busy like yours instead of fighting all the time....But I can honestly say...I remember those busy body times with a soft heart now...they make for some fun memories!

DeleteWhen Violet isn't nursing, she's hanging on the dishwasher or stove. She's not much of an adventurer but as expected she wants to play with our toys: phone, computer, and anything else gpfragile and expensive.

DeleteI can't believe he is about to be a year soon. Addison is on the move. I mean I can't keep up. She is tiring me out. I am looking to put her in a mothers mornign out program so she can go to school for a few days and few hours a week.
ReplyDeleteI just try to pack my patience and remember that she is a curious toddler!
I'm trying to practice being more patient too. Thankfully, Moo is old enough to start private school this upcoming fall.

No, I don't have any issue with her not turning down food. LOL.
DeleteAwww! Those days weren't too long ago for me. Moo will probably go through that stage and flip the script and not each much in the next year. My four (10,8, 6 and 4) are still busy for the most part. At this stage they are bickering with each other more than anything.
ReplyDeleteI hope we skip the picky eater stage because there's already so much she can't eat now with her allergies.
DeleteI feel you on this one. My two older ones are not taking naps. Little Joy takes an early morning nap and that's about it! When all 3 are home, it gets pretty crazy. They do kerp Joy entertained though when she isn't cranky.
