GiveBack for the Holidays

We have 17 days left until the most wonderful day of the year-Christmas.  And with Christmas being so close around the corner, I'm sure that many of us are thinking about all the wonderful presents we're going to receive.  Maybe you have thoughts of that new crockpot you've been eying dancing around in your head.  But Christmas is about more than just receiving.  It's about giving back to those who are need and to those who have given to us when we were in need.

Thanks to the wonderful people at One2One Network, I was informed about a wonderful website called GiveBack.  GiveBack is a website that allows you to create your own foundation in which you get to pick the charities that you want to donate to.  There are local, national and global charities for you to choose from.  And the best news of all is that it's absolutely FREE!!  Yep, there are no sign up costs or hidden fees.

I was amazed at how easy it was to sign up.  You can either sign up using your Facebook page or complete their short (and I do mean short) registration form.  I opted for the registration form.  From their you can start browsing through charities by name, location or theme.  I decided to browse the list of local charities from my hometown. All charities on the GiveBack website are registered with the IRS and you do get a tax receipt for donating.

I choice to donate to the Mercy In Me Free Medical Clinic. They donate free medical services to those persons and family who can't afford healthcare or health insurance.  Their goal is to raise $2,000 which of course cover the cost of their services, supplies, etc.  I can donate to my charity by either making a personal donation using my credit card or I shop from a list of online retailers and up to 15% of my purchase will be added to my foundation account.

Please take five minutes out of your holiday to help spread joy to others this holiday season.

Happy Holidays!!

  2. @Alicia-You're welcome. I love the site because I can give as little or as big as I like and as often as I like. Great for those of us who are on a budget but still want to help those in need.
